Meet Our Team

DR. ROSS KENNEY

Dr. Kenney was born and raised in the small community of Bristol, New Brunswick situated in the Western part of New Brunswick. He received his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. He went on to complete his medical degree from Dalhousie University and studied at the satellite campus in Saint John, Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick.  
 
Dr. Kenney is a member of the Rookwood Family Health primary care team. In addition to assessing patients in his clinic, Dr. Kenney cares for inpatients along with the other physicians in his call group on a rotating basis. He has particular interest in Palliative Care and regularly does patient rounds at the Fredericton Hospice.  
 
Outside of his regular clinical duties, Dr. Kenney plans on becoming involved in Medical Education where he will be teaching medical students and residents. 
 
In his personal life, Dr. Kenney enjoys spending time with his wife and his two little girls, Lilian and Addison. He enjoys taking in the sights of nature while hiking and camping. 
 

DR. NANCY KANG

Dr. Kang is originally from Fredericton and completed her undergraduate degree in science at UNB. She graduated medical school from Dalhousie university in 2014 and moved to Ottawa to complete her family medicine training in 2016. She worked for a few years as a family doctor in Ottawa before moving back home to Fredericton. 

 

In her free time Dr. Kang enjoys reading, crocheting and spending time with her family. 

DR. KYLE MCCANN

Dr. McCann obtained his medical degree from Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick and has been practising medicine since 2017. Dr. McCann enjoys spending his free time in the outdoors running and hiking.

 

His favorite thing to do in Fredericton is attend festivals in the community and explore the outdoors.

DR. KARA ALLAN

Dr. Allan is originally from the small town of Glassville in western New Brunswick. She completed her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. She then went on to complete her MD in Saint John with Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick. After finishing her Family Medicine Residency in Fredericton in 2019, she and her husband decided to stay in the city where he was raised and put down roots.

As a member of the Rookwood Family Health primary care team Dr. Allan sees patients in her clinic as well as taking care of inpatients along with her fellow call group physicians. She has a strong interest in Women’s Health and will be starting a low-risk obstetrics group with fellow Fredericton family physicians, including her office partner, Dr. MacDonald.

In her free time Dr. Allan enjoys hiking and traveling with her husband, as well as being an avid reader and baker. Recipe and book suggestions welcome.

Dr. MacDonald grew up in New Brunswick and completed her undergraduate degree in Biology from Crandall University in Moncton. She then went on to attend medical school at Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick in Saint John, graduating with her MD in 2017. Following this, she did her Family Medicine Residency in Fredericton, as well as doing some extra training in Obstetrics in Vancouver, BC.

 

As a member of the Rookwood Family Health primary care team, Dr. MacDonald sees patients in clinic as well as managing inpatients on a rotating call basis. In addition, Dr. MacDonald and her office partner, Dr. Allan, share an interest in Women’s Health and are starting a low-risk obstetrics group to serve the Fredericton Area.

 

In her free time, Dr. MacDonald enjoys reading and cooking/baking, as well as spending time with her family.  

DR. KATELYN MACDONALD
ROBYN KENNEY, RN

Born in Nova Scotia, and raised right here in Fredericton, Robyn received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from UNB Fredericton in 2009. She has spent the past 11 years working on surgical units, paediatrics and currently within emergency department at the champers hospital. Use to the fast pace of acute care in the hospital setting, Robyn couldn’t be more excited to join the team at Rookwood Health and put on her community nurse hat. Spending that extra time to educate, assist and just getting to know you and your families. It’s possible she is best known for her contagious laugh, making it easy to tell the days she is in office. On days off she can be found enjoying her time with her husband and two beautiful girls.
